Today our monthly staff meeting focused on the concept of “Service Mind,” and on beginning to identify our company’s Core Values (community, quality, sustainability, and “funny guy” were some of the top suggestions). We also learned a terrific new energizer, DJ in the House, which you should look out for at our next student program or community event!
However, the most surprising and sobering lesson of the day was not on our meeting agenda. When we took a break for lunch and sent a couple of staff to grab some kow mun gai (spicy boiled chicken) and kow moo glob (crispy pork on rice) to go, we were shocked by the amount of trash that accompanied our meal.
