Every June, the local Mae On community hosts a Bang Fai (Rocket) Festival. The celebration is held at the beginning of the rice planting season. The tradition began as a way to make offerings to the rain spirits for an abundant rice harvest and continues on as one of the loudest and most exciting ways for families and local community to come together.
Join the CMRCA staff for a trip out to Mae On to support the community closet to the crag, eat delicious local food and of course -shoot off a rocket made of bamboo and black powder!
CMRCA will be providing transportation to the event. Please register by clicking the button below and indicate if you will be riding with us or providing your own transportation.
Check out a video from last year’s event and photos below. Hope to see everyone there!
