If you visited Central Airport Plaza last week, chances are you noticed a couple of things out of the ordinary — an extreme skatepark in the parking lot, 4-wheel-drive vehicles and dirt bikes parked outside of Chiang Mai Hall, or perhaps a traditional Karen loom being carried through the door. Chiang Mai International Adventures 2011 was that kind of tradeshow.
From Monday through Wednesday last week, adventure and community-based tourism organizations came from around the region to showcase some of the best travel experiences that Chiang Mai has to offer. CMRCA was very happy to be at the center of this, running a free climbing wall and miniature gear shop throughout the show. Denali spoke at a seminar addressing quality and sustainability in adventure tourism on the first day. The undisputed highlight of the show, however, was when Kat, Pui, Pum and White thrilled the crowd by rappelling in from the ceiling during the grand opening!
Thanks to all who visited us at Chiang Mai International Adventures. We’re proud to be part of a strong community of adventure and community-based tourism providers, and committed to making Chiang Mai one of the world’s best aventure destinations!
Climb on!
